Welcome to my blog! Starting this while life in the "new normal" is starting to feel a bit normal
Hi friends! I’ve been meaning to get my Bridge to Shiawase website off the ground for a while and with everything happening with COVID-19, it felt like the right time to finally check that off my list for a few reasons.
Firstly, as many of you can probably relate – I have more down time that I’m spending at home as a result of social distancing. I figured that if I can’t get this website started now, I never will and that really motivated me to start writing. I think I often get in my own head where I feel like if I can’t start something perfectly, I hesitate to start it at all. I’m pretty sure that’s a common fear that many people experience as well, but I’m going to try my best to overcome it. When I made my first video for my Bridge to Shiawase YouTube channel, I felt the same way but one day, I decided to upload the video and stop criticizing myself so much. Looking back now, I’m so glad that I pushed myself to just do it, and I’m sure I’ll feel that way about starting this blog too.

I’m also realizing that with all of the uncertainty right now, writing is more important than ever. It’s not only a fun and creative outlet for myself, but also a way for me to connect with others and hopefully provide some positivity and comfort when people need it the most. That’s why I’m making a slight pivot with this blog from my YouTube and Instagram channel, at least for now. I created Bridge to Shiawase mostly as a way to document and share my travel experiences with you all, but given the world we live in currently, it didn’t feel right to center my blog around travel solely. I’d still love to incorporate some content around travel here and share some inspiration for fellow adventure seekers to help fuel your wanderlust while we’re all taking a break from hopping on planes. That said, I’m going to write more content around lifestyle and career topics that are more relevant today, and if there is anything else you’d like to see from me, please don’t be shy and shoot me a message!
Also if you’re new to Bridge to Shiawase, it would mean so much if you take a moment to learn more about who I am. Over time, I’d love to get to know you all and hear your stories as well!
Regardless of what brought you here, thank you for stopping by and reading! Stay healthy and safe, and remember that we’re all in this together. :)
xx Eri
